Bangladeshi Leader’s Son Credits PM Modi for Saving Sheikh Hasina’s Life Amid Assassination Plot
Dhaka: Sheikh Hasina’s son, Sajeeb Wazed, has publicly thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for saving his mother’s life during last year’s attempted coup in Bangladesh. Speaking to news agency ANI, Wazed revealed that during the July 2024 rebellion, terrorists had plotted to assassinate the ousted Awami League leader, and India played a crucial role in protecting her.
Wazed said:
“India has always been a true friend. During difficult times, the Indian government effectively saved my mother’s life. I will always remain grateful to Prime Minister Modi for this.”
