Fake Journalism Poses the Greatest Threat to Media Credibility — Vinayak Ashok Luniya

Nivaraha Foundation to Launch Nationwide ‘Media Integrity Protection Campaign’ from December 6

Indore/New Delhi: Nivaraha Foundation is set to launch a nationwide initiative, the “Media Integrity Protection Campaign”, starting December 6. The campaign aims to demand strict action against fake journalists, fraudulent YouTubers, blackmail gangs, and illegally operating media houses spreading misinformation across the country.

The foundation has announced that in every district, memorandums will be submitted to the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and Police Commissioner, urging them to:

  • File FIRs against fake journalists
  • Take immediate action against YouTubers and media groups involved in blackmail or extortion
  • Enforce legal penalties on media houses violating the Digital Media Act 2021

Fake Journalism Poses the Greatest Threat to Media Credibility — Vinayak Ashok Luniya

The campaign will be led by senior journalist Vinayak Ashok Luniya, who said:

“The credibility and integrity of Indian media are under serious threat today. Fake YouTubers and self-styled journalists, selling content for Rs. 500, are tarnishing the image of media. They follow neither journalistic standards nor the law. Their main work has become blackmail, spreading false news, and extortion.”

He emphasized that if these fake elements are not strictly curbed immediately, the very structure of media could be at risk in the near future.

“Media Exists to Uphold Truth Over Evil”

Luniya further stated:

“True journalism is the mirror of society and the fourth pillar of democracy. Today, its integrity is under threat, making nationwide action indispensable. Nivaraha Foundation will undertake a strong legal campaign to safeguard media integrity.”

National Campaign, District-Level Action

Under this initiative:

  • Written complaints will be submitted to district authorities
  • Lists of fake media organizations will be compiled and presented for action
  • Anti-Fake Media Task Committees will be established in every district
  • Awareness programs promoting truthful journalism will be conducted

The Nivaraha Foundation has called upon responsible citizens, journalists, and social workers to join the campaign and actively support the cause.
