Who is IG Gaurav Rajput?
Gaurav Singh Rajput, a 2004-batch IPS officer from Vidisha, is one of the youngest IGs in the state at 41 years old. Entering the IPS at just 24, he has served as SP in districts including Anuppur, Mandla, Dewas, Morena, and Katni, earning a reputation as a strict and disciplined officer. He later served as DIG for Women’s Safety in Indore, DIG in Ratlam, and in the CID, before taking on a key role in the Home Department. Most recently, he was posted as DIG in Bhopal with the 25th Battalion of CISF before his current appointment as IG of Rewa Range.

Firm Stance Against Drug Mafia
IG Rajput reiterated his determination: “Our sole objective is zero tolerance. We will completely eradicate Korex from the Vindhya region. The mafias will not succeed—we will break their backbone.”

Inspection of Kolgawan Police Station
Following the review meeting, IG Rajput conducted a surprise inspection of Kolgawan Police Station, assessing records, registers, and overall functioning. Senior officers, including Addl. SP Shivesh Singh Baghel, Prem Lal Kurve, and CSP Devendra Pratap Singh, were present during the inspection.
