Massive Fire Engulfs Metal Factory in Mathura, Thick Black Smoke Raises Panic

Mathura: A major industrial accident occurred in Mathura on Friday morning when a massive fire broke out at a metal factory, creating chaos across the surrounding area. Thick black smoke billowed several feet into the sky, alarming nearby residents.

The incident took place at Shivangi Metals, a scrap metal processing factory located near Gokul Restaurant Crossing in the Gaur Kendra Industrial Area along the National Highway. The factory had started its usual operations in the morning, with a large number of workers present. Suddenly, flames erupted from one section of the building and quickly engulfed the entire facility in smoke.

Quick Action Prevents Casualties
Thanks to the swift response of local people and factory staff, all employees were safely evacuated, averting any casualties. Locals displayed remarkable courage by blocking the roads leading to the factory and attempting to douse the flames with available resources even before the fire brigade arrived.

Police and fire department teams reached the site promptly. More than two fire brigade vehicles battled the blaze for several hours, bringing it largely under control. Cooling operations inside the factory are still ongoing. Mathura CO Sandeep Singh stated that the immediate priority was to prevent the fire from spreading and to ensure the safety of all workers. Authorities are now conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the fire.

Property Losses Could Run Into Millions
The exact cause of the fire remains unclear—whether it was due to a short circuit or human error. Factory owners estimate that machinery and raw materials worth several lakh rupees have been destroyed. A precise assessment of the financial damage will be possible only after the investigation is complete.
