Noida, Uttar Pradesh: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is set to expand its services from Botanical Garden to Sector-142, with construction expected to begin between February and March 2026. NMRC MD Dr. Lokesh M presented the proposal before the Public Investment Board, which reportedly responded positively. An official approval letter is expected within a week, after which the tendering process for construction will commence. Meanwhile, detailed design drawings for the corridor have already been completed, and the project design company has been selected.
11.56-Kilometer Elevated Corridor
The new metro corridor will span 11.56 kilometers and form part of the Aqua Line. It will feature eight stations: Botanical Garden, Noida Sector-44, Noida Office, Sector-97, Sector-105, Sector-108, Sector-93, and Panchsheel Balak Inter College, with the final station at Sector-142. The corridor’s daily ridership is projected at 1 to 1.25 lakh passengers. The estimated construction cost is approximately ₹2,254.35 crore.
Public Investment Board Questions Addressed
During the presentation, the board raised questions about the line’s viability, potential passenger load, and how it complements the existing metro network. NMRC MD Dr. Lokesh M addressed all concerns, leading to a positive response. The approval letter is expected by early January, after which construction tenders will be issued.

Separately, the metro route from Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki has already received central government approval. This smaller Aqua Line expansion will cover 2.6 kilometers with two stations, Junpat and Bodaki, with Bodaki housing a larger station. The estimated cost for this stretch is ₹416 crore.
