Saharanpur Shock: Teacher Accused of Brutally Assaulting Class 7 Student, Locking Him in a Room; Child Found Unconscious

A disturbing case of corporal punishment has surfaced from Saharanpur’s Chunheti village, where a Class 7 student was allegedly beaten unconscious by a schoolteacher over a minor issue. The incident has triggered widespread anger in the region, prompting police action and administrative inquiry.

The Incident

The incident took place on the afternoon of 10 November at the government primary school in Chunheti. During the lunch break, children were playing football on the school ground when the ball accidentally hit the teacher’s son. Enraged by this, the teacher allegedly assaulted the student mercilessly.

According to the victim’s family, the teacher slapped the child repeatedly, grabbed him by the neck, dragged him across the corridor, and locked him inside a room. No one was allowed to check on him, leaving the child alone and in distress.

Student Found Unconscious

The victim’s brother, Anees, stated that the child became unconscious due to the excessive beating. After regaining consciousness some time later, he somehow managed to stumble his way home. His family members were shocked to find visible injury marks on his face and neck.

When they questioned him about his condition, the student narrated the entire ordeal. The parents rushed to the local police outpost and filed a formal complaint demanding strict action against the accused teacher.

Police and Administration Respond

The police have registered the complaint and begun an investigation.

Block Education Officer (BEO) Suresh Tyagi confirmed that a detailed report of the incident has been forwarded to higher authorities. A special inquiry committee has also been constituted to examine the facts and fix responsibility.

Public Outrage

The incident has sparked massive resentment among villagers. Local residents say that cases of cruelty in government schools are rising, and poor families—who have no option but to send their children to these schools—are constantly worried about their safety.
